Melanie G. Leahy, CFP®, born and raised in the Sandhills area, is the founder of Pinehurst Wealth. She built Pinehurst Wealth with the vision of becoming the premier local resource for securing retirees’ income and addressing their unique financial needs with exceptional white-glove service. With over 15 years of experience as a wealth advisor, Melanie has dedicated her career to helping retirees overcome their primary fear of outliving their savings. While most retirees will never fully deplete their savings, alleviating this concern and instilling confidence in her clients has demonstrated the potential to transform anxious retirements into vibrant and exciting ones.

Recognizing the growing concern about financial security in retirement, especially in an era of high inflation, Melanie developed her proprietary “Evergreen Income” process. This strategy is designed to provide retirees with a more reliable and sustainable income stream through all seasons of the stock market, helping ensure they can enjoy retirement without the fear of outliving their savings.

Since 2015, Melanie has partnered with Sandhills Community College as a volunteer instructor to teach workshops and courses for retirees. Her knowledge and experience were further recognized when she was invited to design a course specifically for pre-retirees, aimed at guiding them through Social Security decisions to help maximize their benefits.

Melanie is a Certified Financial Planner™ and holds a Master of Trust and Wealth Management degree with Summa Cum Laude honors from Campbell University. She also earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications with a minor in Philosophy from East Carolina University, where she was a proud member of the Pirate golf team. In her spare time, Melanie enjoys going on travel adventures with her husband and two children.
